National Lottery of Benin Opens Doors to Investment with Public Offering

Porto-Novo, Benin, 09/10/2024 — In a groundbreaking move that aims to bolster the gaming sector and stimulate investment and economic growth, the National Lottery of Benin (LNB) has announced its inaugural Public Offering (OPV) of 7 million shares currently held by the Beninese State.

This significant initiative will take place from October 7 to 25, marking an important milestone as the LNB prepares for its imminent listing on the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM).

The shares are set at a price of 4,800 CFA francs, with the total capital expected to range between 33.6 and 43.2 billion CFA francs. “This operation marks an important milestone for the company,” the announcement stated, emphasizing the transformative potential of the offering for both the LNB and the broader economy.

This public offering is aligned with the government’s Projects of the Action Program (PAG II), aimed at enhancing the economic landscape of Benin. The Coordinator of the Supervision Cell of the Gaming Sector, Nicolas Simel NDIAYE, expressed his optimism regarding the initiative, stating, “This development reflects the dynamism and modernization of the gaming sector in Benin, as well as the efforts in terms of regulation and transparency.”
