Edward Oluigbo on Fostering Trust and Building Innovation in Nigeria’s iGaming Ecosystem

The recent Enugu Gaming Conference 2025 hosted by the Enugu State Gaming Commission convened leading industry players in Nigeria’s growing iGaming ecosystem. Among them was Edward Oluigbo, CEO of Predict International Limited and Country Manager for PunterClash, who shared his insights on trust, innovation, and the evolving regulatory landscape.

Speaking on how Predict International has managed to thrive in Nigeria’s competitive iGaming environment, Oluigbo emphasized the importance of collaboration among the regulators in the industry and technology incorporation. “At Predict International Limited, we’ve always maintained good relations with regulatory bodies while tapping into the best of existing technology. That’s basically how we’ve been able to navigate the system—and it’s paid off,” he said.

The event’s theme, Unification and Diversification, focused on Nigeria’s shift toward unified regulations and increased diversity in the gaming sector, a timely topic that has sparked widespread discussion. For Edward, the evolution of Nigeria’s gaming laws has been both transformative and promising. “With the new gaming laws in place, we’ve seen better synergy among states and operators,” he explained. “In the past, it was often unclear who to approach regarding licensing or regulation because multiple bodies operated independently. Now, we’re seeing much more collaboration and alignment.”

He also stressed the importance of involving operators in the regulatory decision-making process and expressed a desire for a scenario where operators are not merely recipients of policies but are engaged early on. Edward pointed out that it is often the case to wake up to new taxes or regulations without prior warning, and he believes it would be advantageous for key stakeholders or groups of operators to be included from the beginning. This early involvement would help them understand upcoming changes and prepare accordingly.

Edward also urged operators and investors aiming to expand into Nigeria, particularly Enugu State, emphasizing that the region offers abundant opportunities for growth and collaboration. “Establish your presence here in Enugu,” he recommended. “There is genuine enthusiasm and a strong willingness to engage stakeholders. I’ve observed easier access to regulatory bodies in Enugu compared to other locations. It’s an excellent environment to set up and realize positive outcomes.”
