Bet Software Opens an Office in Cape Town

BET Software, one of the most comprehensive betting software companies in sub-Saharan Africa with a quickly expanding international footprint, has formally opened its Cape Town office. Bet Software Cape Town

When BET Software first began, techies were searching for solutions. A cutting-edge betting software system built from the ground up for South Africa’s top bookmaker was one of many solutions that its team of engineers’ perseverance allowed them to create.

The major operators receive all the back-end betting engines and customer relationship management (CRM) systems from this strong tech provider for the betting industry, which they can utilize for all kinds of real-world events. This contains adaptations for other markets, such as Mozambique, with Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Zambia also gaining popularity.

BET Software’s general manager, Michael Collins, claims that his team is well-positioned in the Mother City as the business expands at an incredible rate and drives hiring in other significant locations including Durban, Johannesburg, and East London.

Cape Town has been described as Africa’s tech capital – brimming with entrepreneurs, innovative technology and diverse start-ups. It’s a melting pot of tech businesses. We’re excited to solidify our presence in this city.

explains Collins.

With the purpose of fostering tech innovation in the city, the Western Cape’s tech sector has developed into a significant investment hub and is made up of a vibrant digital economy. This is consistent with the collaboration, diversity, and empowerment attitude of BET Software.

Collins highlights the association BET Software has with Red Hat, whose portfolio includes cloud-native application development, management and automation solutions, and hybrid cloud infrastructure, as a key differentiator for BET Software.

We haven’t quite gone about this in the traditional sense,” he relays, “as we do not use a traditional cloud provider like Azure or similar – we have actually built our own private cloud on the Red Hat backbone, buying all of the infrastructure and then having them install Red Hat directly onto, essentially, a piece of tin.

Effectively, we have thus built our own distributed cloud network across multiple data centres in South Africa, into which we are developing. That gives us a lot more control over costs, and the way in which we move data around distributed data centres, without it being a service that we are looking to other providers for.

explains Collins.

The spirit of Ubuntu is at the heart of BET Software.

“When BET Software started, we found that some learners and schools in the Durban area lacked access to computer labs, or their computers were outdated or non-functional. This shortfall that schools were experiencing posed huge challenges,”

Collins says.

The corporation stepped in at that point.

We assist in developing learners’ technological skills. We facilitate their growth by providing a solid foundation that allows them to excel in their future careers in a technologically driven world. We have seen a sustainable and meaningful impact as a result of our work. Learners have become more confident.

Collins added.

The CSI activities of BET Software also include a graduate and bursary program. The company’s “Dare To Dream” bursary program offers financial aid to ICT students at recognized tertiary institutions around the nation, while the graduate program gives graduate trainees job experience with the intention of hiring them.
