Betika DRC Donates Sports Equipment to 74 Football Clubs in Kinshasa

Betika DRC hosted an official equipment handover ceremony at the CEPAS meeting hall in Kinshasa, providing essential sports gear to 74 local football clubs ahead of the 2026–2027 season.

The initiative is part of Betika DRC’s ongoing partnerships with the Kinshasa Provincial Football Association (Entente Provinciale de Football de Kinshasa–EPFKIN) and urban football associations. It directly supports grassroots teams across the capital, benefiting 34 clubs affiliated with EPFKIN, 20 clubs from EUFKIN/Lipopo, and 20 clubs from EUFKIN/Lukunga.

The ceremony took place on 16 October 2026 and was attended by the president of the National Football League (LINAFOOT), sports officials, and a representative of Betika DRC.

Betika DRC provided equipment tailored to the needs of each entente, helping address the significant material and financial constraints faced by local sports organizations. EPFKIN teams received 1,923 jerseys, enough for two full sets per team, along with 12 competition footballs per team, 12 goal nets, 40 pairs of goalkeeper gloves, 70 Fox 80 whistles, and 10 sets of referee cards.

EUFKIN/Lukunga teams received 800 jerseys, four goal nets, 40 pairs of goalkeeper gloves, and 20 referee whistles. EUFKIN/Lipopo teams received 12 goal nets, 40 pairs of goalkeeper gloves, 20 Fox 80 whistles, and 10 sets of referee cards.

In addition to physical equipment, Betika DRC’s sponsorship extends to covering league participation fees for member clubs, relieving a heavy financial burden that often threatens team participation.

Betika DRC’s Director General, Gireesh Devjani Kumar, noted that this partnership reflects the company’s long-term commitment to supporting Congolese sports development and surrounding communities. During the event, he also delivered a message on responsible gaming, emphasizing that sports betting must remain entertainment for adults and never be treated as a source of income or a solution to financial difficulties.

Local sports leadership warmly received the initiative. Alain Kanga, President of EUFKIN-Lukunga, acknowledged the steep challenges of managing a team and praised Betika for stepping in to advance Congolese football.

For Betika RDC, football represents a vital source of unity, opportunity, and inspiration for young talent across the Democratic Republic of the Congo. By investing directly in local clubs, leaders, and players, the program aims to nurture talent and foster a lasting positive impact across Kinshasa’s neighborhoods.
