Megan O. Basson is a dynamic and accomplished legal professional currently serving as the Executive Director of the International Center for Gaming Regulation at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is a South African national who is essentially setting global standards for legal and compliance across the global gambling Landscape.

Megan’s professional journey is marked by nearly 15 years as Head of Licensing at the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB) in South Africa, where she oversaw the complex task of licensing operators in the gambling industry. Her experience included navigating rigorous due diligence processes, implementing policies, and advocating for procedural improvements, all while managing a diverse team and liaising with various organizations. Beyond her legal and regulatory expertise, Megan is a passionate advocate for neurodiversity and inclusivity. As a dedicated wife and mother of two boys with special needs, she actively promotes awareness, acceptance, and opportunities for individuals with different abilities. She founded Chasing Rainbows, a supportive network for special needs parents and advocates, fostering a sense of community for those navigating similar challenges. As an ambassador abroad for Women in Gaming in Africa, Megan is committed to empowering women in the industry, further diversifying leadership roles, and championing initiatives that foster equity.
