Kaizen Gaming Strengthens Presence in Africa with Betano’s Entry into Ghana

Kaizen Gaming recently entered the West African market with the launch of Betano in Ghana, marking the company’s 20th regulated market worldwide.

The launch of Betano in Ghana represents a significant milestone in Kaizen Gaming’s international expansion strategy. Ghana, one of Africa’s earlier regulated betting markets since 2006, offers a promising opportunity due to its high mobile usage, young digital population, and well-established regulatory system. By entering this market, the company aims to establish a long-term presence in West Africa. The country’s total gambling market revenue is projected to reach approximately $915.9 million in 2025, with the online segment continuing to grow as more operators enter and digital channels expand.

According to company executives, Ghana meets key criteria for expansion, possessing strong long-term potential and a notably tech-oriented population. George Skarlatos, Director of Business Development at Betano, noted: “Ghana is a market with strong long-term potential, an increasingly tech-oriented population, and a clear commitment to building a structured and transparent regulatory environment. Through our strong local partnerships, and with responsibility fully embedded across our technology, processes and operations, we are fully aligned with Ghana’s regulatory framework to support a safe, well-functioning and trusted experience for all players from day one.”

This African expansion is the latest in a series of high-profile achievements for Kaizen Gaming. The company is currently riding a wave of industry recognition, having been named “Operator of the Year” for two consecutive years at both the SBC and EGR Operator Awards. Furthermore, Betano’s entry into Ghana is supported by a substantial global marketing footprint, including a landmark partnership with FIFA for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, as well as ongoing collaborations with world-class football clubs such as FC Bayern München, Aston Villa FC, FC Porto, and Sporting CP.

The launch event took place in Accra, attended by Kaizen Gaming executives George Skarlatos, Director of Business Development, and Daniel Lamberti, Senior Business Development Advisor, alongside Mr. Emmanuel Siisi Quainoo, Acting Commissioner for the Gaming Commission of Ghana. Unlike many market entries that focus solely on user acquisition, the Betano launch was characterized by a close partnership with local authorities.

Quainoo emphasised that Betano’s entry is welcomed precisely because of the company’s commitment to player protection and market integrity. By embedding responsibility into its core processes and technology, Kaizen Gaming is positioning itself as a partner to the regulator, ensuring the local industry maintains high operational standards.

We welcome Betano’s entry into Ghana. Ensuring high standards are met by all operators is crucial in safeguarding player protection and maintaining market integrity. Kaizen Gaming and Betano show clear commitment to these principles, and we look forward to their continued cooperation and focus on upholding safe operations for all,” said Mr. Emmanuel Siisi Quainoo.
