Why iGA Summit 2026: Unpacking the iGaming AFRIKA Summit

In May 2026, Nairobi will take center stage as it hosts the inaugural iGaming AFRIKA Summit (iGA Summit) from May 4–6 at the Sarit Expo Centre. Under the slogan “The Heart of Gaming in Africa,” this landmark gathering will unite operators, affiliates, regulators, and innovators from across the world for three days of networking, innovation, and cultural exchange.

Speaking on the iGaming AFRIKA Summit Podcast with host Miss Kithinji, Jeremiah Maangi, CEO of iGaming AFRIKA, unpacked the vision behind the summit, the opportunities it presents, and what makes Nairobi the ideal host city.

“The main focal point for this event is to ensure that we are creating an environment for operators to get access to world technology products or solutions that are performing really well in the gaming space,” he explained. “Most of these products originate from outside of Africa. So we are creating an environment whereby these people can come to one place, that is Nairobi, Kenya, showcase their products and give an opportunity to the operators to be able to acquire or access them.”

With over 3,500 delegates, 100 speakers, 350+ affiliates, 500 operators, and more than 100 exhibitors and sponsors expected, the iGaming AFRIKA Summit will serve as a pivotal convergence point for industry leaders and innovators. According to Jeremiah, these figures are just the beginning: “Actually, those numbers are on the lower end. We have the ability to make it big because we are a well-established brand. Whatever we have planned, we can bypass those numbers.”

One of the most distinctive features of the iGA Summit is its free-entry ticket model, the first of its kind for an event of this scale in Africa. “This is going to be the first-ever free-entry summit. It means there is a ticket that can give you access to the summit without you even paying,” Jeremiah revealed. “The reason why we thought about it this way is because traveling within Africa is very expensive compared to Europe. So we said: let’s give people an opportunity to come and learn, especially the youth here in Africa.”

“Now people can come to Kenya without paying for visas or filling lengthy forms. This alone opens the doors to attendees from over 100 countries,” said Jeremiah as he highlighted Kenya’s recent removal of visa requirements for most African and Caribbean nations.

With only a business email registration, first-time attendees can unlock a wide range of benefits at no cost. The Standard Ticket grants access to the welcome reception, pre-registration and networking events, and even a soccer tournament. Most importantly, free-ticket holders receive full access to the exhibition floor and the Main Stage, where some of the industry’s most insightful sessions will be held.

According to Jeremiah, the choice of Nairobi as the summit’s host city was both deliberate and strategic. He described the city as the heart of Africa, centrally located, affordable, and already a thriving hub for gaming businesses. The Sarit Expo Centre, surrounded by many of the industry’s key players, provides the ideal backdrop for the iGA Summit 2026. As Nairobi’s largest and most advanced exhibition venue, the Expo Centre spans an impressive 3,300 square meters, offering a world-class platform for exhibitors and delegates to connect, showcase their innovations, and present product offerings.

Attendees will gain vital insights across key verticals such as regulation, affiliate marketing, emerging technologies, and fintech innovations through curated sessions and expert panels. This diverse range of topics will ensure that Africa’s unique opportunities and challenges are addressed from both local and international perspectives, paving the way for long-term industry growth.

A key priority, however, is responsible gaming. Jeremiah revealed that the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB), one of the Summit’s strategic partners, has been instrumental in shaping this focus. “They told us: you have to ensure that responsible gaming topics are actually given some good airtime. And that is exactly what we have done.”

Jeremiah Maangi was quick to note that the iGaming AFRIKA Summit 2026 is just the beginning of a larger journey. He compared the event to a newborn with the potential to grow into something bigger, stressing that from the very start, the goal is to deliver real value to participants and ensure they return year after year.

With its inclusive model, global reach, and Nairobi as its dynamic backdrop, the iGA Summit is set to redefine Africa’s gaming narrative. He extended an invitation to all stakeholders, encouraging them to book their flights, secure accommodation, and join the historic gathering at the Sarit Expo Centre from May 4–6, 2026.

“Karibu Kenya!”
