LONAB Conducts Mock Audit in Preparation for Official Certification 2026

On Monday, March 16, 2026, the Burkina Faso National Lottery (LONAB) officially launched a mock audit to evaluate its readiness for the upcoming official certification process.
The mock audit is being conducted in collaboration with the Burkinabe Association of Quality Management (ABMAQ) and is scheduled to run from March 16 to March 20, 2026. Its aim is to rigorously assess LONAB’s level of preparation, detect any remaining non-conformities, and refine internal practices before the official evaluation. In quality management terms, these non-conformities represent instances where internal procedures or records do not meet the required standards.
Mr. Ibrahim Ben Harouna ZARANI, Director General, said, “This exercise will allow us to detect non-conformities and make the necessary adjustments in order to approach the official examination with serenity.”

To ensure a comprehensive evaluation, a structured audit plan has been developed and validated by stakeholders. The audit will encompass several key LONAB locations, including the corporate headquarters, the Main Agency of Ouagadougou, the Koudougou branch, and the Ouaga 3 agency in Tanghin.
The audit methodology includes interviews with employees, literature and document reviews, and direct field observations, all conducted with a guarantee of information confidentiality. This approach allows LONAB to test both its written procedures and how those procedures function in daily operations.
This review affects multiple lines of business within Burkina Faso’s state-run gambling sector. At the conclusion of these proceedings, a formal report will be presented to highlight the institution’s strengths and areas for improvement. To achieve the final certification, the Director General, Mr. ZARANI , has called for the full mobilization of all staff and Quality Management System (QMS) actors to provide all necessary information for the successful conduct of the audit.
