LONASE Foundation Supports Kolda Regional Hospital to Improve Healthcare in Senegal

The Senegalese National Lottery (LONASE) Foundation, through the leadership of its new Director General Abdourahmane Baldé Doura, provided financial support to the Kolda Regional Hospital Center, reaffirming its dedication to improving the healthcare sector in Senegal.

During the event, Director General Baldé presented a check specifically intended for the repair of the scanner at the hospital. This intervention is a major support measure aimed at enhancing the population’s access to quality healthcare services. By addressing equipment failures in regional facilities, the LONASE Foundation is ensuring that essential diagnostic tools are available to those who need them most.

This philanthropic gesture is a key component of Baldé’s broader vision for LONASE. Since his recent appointment, he has been working on a 100-day roadmap designed to establish a clear strategic direction for the national lottery operator. While this plan aims to improve operational and financial performance, it also places a strong emphasis on social welfare and serving the wider Senegalese public.

The support for Kolda Hospital aligns with Baldé’s philosophy that the success of the Authority should benefit the community. In addition to his contributions to public health, Baldé has proposed several initiatives, including strengthening support for retired staff through the foundation by allocating a dedicated budget to assist former employees and their families.

He also plans to implement employee housing programs to help at least 100 workers become homeowners. Emphasizing principles of transparency and fairness, Baldé stated that everyone at LONASE deserves equal dignity, reflecting his commitment to fostering an equitable work environment.

The donation to Kolda is among the first major public actions taken by Baldé as he prepares to unveil his full 100-day action plan. By prioritizing the repair of essential medical infrastructure, the LONASE Foundation, under Baldé’s leadership, demonstrates that its mission extends beyond gaming to serve as a partner in national development and public health.

As Baldé continues to review the company’s business models and address urgent issues, such as the tax burden on the gambling sector, reinforcing the health sector remains a cornerstone of his early administration
