Simba SC Secures Landmark Three-Year Sponsorship Deal with Betway Worth TZS 20 Billion

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania — 29/07/2025 — Simba SC has announced a groundbreaking three-year sponsorship agreement with international gaming company Betway, valued at TZS 20 billion. This partnership positions Betway as the official main sponsor of the club, signaling a new era of growth and ambition for Simba SC and Tanzanian football at large.

The official announcement was made on Monday in Dar es Salaam by Simba’s Chief Executive Officer, Zubeda Sakuru. She expressed optimism about the transformational impact of this deal:

“This partnership will revolutionise football in Tanzania and reinforce Simba’s ambition to become Africa’s number one club. The 20bn/- investment over three years underscores our unwavering commitment to excellence on the continent.”

The sponsorship follows Simba’s recent separation from its previous main sponsor, M-Bet, which had signed a five-year deal valued at TZS 26.1 billion in 2023.

Simba Board member Salim Abdallah, also known as Try Again, highlighted the importance of the sponsorship for the club’s future growth:

“Football is an expensive sport and funding is key. We call on our passionate supporters to stand behind Betway, our official sponsor, as we aim higher.”

Betway Tanzania’s Operations Manager, Jimmy Masaoe, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, assuring supporters of quality engagement and services:

“Betway is a global brand ready to serve Simba’s loyal supporters with 24/7 customer care and innovative betting experiences tailored for the club’s fanbase.”

“Simba is one of Africa’s most iconic clubs. We have watched their journey closely and are thrilled to now partner with them officially.”

The deal has also garnered support from the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF). First Vice-President Athuman Nyamlani congratulated Simba SC on securing what he described as a “mutually beneficial agreement”:

“This is the kind of partnership that TFF encourages, which built on transparency and trust and if managed prudently, this TZS 20 billion deal could pave the way for even larger sponsorships in the future.”

This landmark sponsorship marks a new chapter for Simba SC, promising to bolster the club’s aspirations on the continental stage.
