Appointment to the Board of Trustees of the International Association of Gaming Regulators
The Gambling Authority is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Emolemo Peter Kesitilwe, the Chief Executive Officer of Gambling Authority to the Board of Trustees of the International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR).
This appointment was made at the 2024 Joint Conference of the International Association of Gaming Regulators and the International Masters of Gambling Law held under the theme “Navigate the future of gaming regulation and law in a transforming world”. The Board appointment marks a significant milestone for the Gambling Authority. IAGR is the world’s leading body for gaming regulation, consisting of representation from 78 jurisdictions and with more than 400 individual members. IAGR was established in 1980 as an adjunct to the International Association of Gaming Attorneys (IAGA) and it was incorporated in 2011 as a non-profit organisation.
The mission of IAGR is to provide a voice for Governments, Gaming and Gambling Regulators, and Gambling and Gaming Industry Professionals from the international gaming industry, offering a platform for sharing best practices in gaming regulation. This appointment highlights Botswana’s growing influence in the global gaming and gambling landscape and will further enhance the country’s efforts in diversifying the industry, creating employment opportunities, and increasing government revenues.
