Malawi Gaming and Lotteries Authority (MAGLA) Sponsers  Super League of Malawi (SULOM) with K40MIL

The Malawi Gaming and Lotteries Authority (MAGLA) signed a K40m (US$23k) Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Super League of Malawi (SULOM). MAGLA will sponsor the ‘Goal and Save of the Month Award’ for the 2026 FDH Bank Premiership.

The partnership was announced on Monday, May 25, in Blantyre. MAGLA director general Muchanankhwaye Mpuluka noted that the deal will celebrate football and campaign for responsible gambling.

He said, “We have donated K40Mil into the league to sponsor the goal and save the month awards. This partnership gives us the opportunity to understand Malawians in football while advancing awareness on responsible gambling. “

Under the agreement, players will be recognized monthly for outstanding goals and exceptional saves throughout the 2026 season. The awards are expected to create additional incentives for players and raise competitive standards in the league.

SULOM vice president Ronald Chiwaula said,” We are proud that Malawi Gaming Lottery Authority has chosen to recognize and reward our players throughout the 26/27 season. We are also grateful to our main sponsors, FDH Bank, for allowing to bring additional partners on board. “

Winners of goal and save of the month will each receive K1Million. K10Million will be directed to administration throughout the rest of the season.

MAGLA said the initiative is part of efforts to support football development as well as enhance performance incentives in Malawi’s premier football competition. SULOM described the sponsorship as a boost for the domestic game. Noting that monthly recognition will motivate players and add excitement for fans.
