CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe Engages with Kenyan, Tanzanian, and Ugandan Leaders on AFCON PAMOJA 2027 in Nairobi

CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe recently met with the Ministers and Football Leadership from Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in Nairobi to convene for the formal Joint Resolution signing ceremony regarding the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) PAMOJA 2027.

The meeting discussions emphasized the importance of strengthening regional partnerships, aligning infrastructure development, enhancing security and logistics frameworks, and ensuring seamless communication among all stakeholders involved to successfully host the CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027. The meeting further highlighted the “PAMOJA” (together) spirit of regional cooperation, underscoring the shared commitment of the partner states to deliver a world-class sporting event that will promote unity, economic growth, tourism, and international recognition for the East African region.

In addition to these regional discussions, Dr. Motsepe also joined the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya. During the event, he met with Nigeria’s Head of State, His Excellency Bola Tinubu, to discuss critical issues regarding the synergy between government, the private sector, and football in Nigeria and throughout Africa. These discussions aim to foster a collaborative environment where sports can drive economic and social development across the continent.

He also engaged with international leaders at the summit, including Kenya’s President William Ruto, French President Emmanuel Macron, Botswana’s President Duma Boko, and Senegal’s Head of State Bassirou Diomaye Faye. These collective engagements highlight a growing trend of sports diplomacy, positioning football as a central pillar for African leadership and international partnership.
