Equatorial Guinea Announces Regulation of Online Gaming and Grants Master Licence to Mascott Capital Partners
Malabo, Equatorial Guinea – The Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea has officially introduced a new legal framework to regulate online gaming activities within the country.
The initiative aims to establish a comprehensive and transparent licensing system for online betting, casinos, and gaming platforms, ensuring integrity, consumer protection, and adherence to international best practices.
The newly implemented Online Gaming, Online Betting and Online Casino Licensing Framework provides detailed guidelines covering application procedures, compliance standards, financial obligations, and other key regulatory requirements. This framework is designed to foster a safe and reputable environment for online gaming operators and players alike.
In conjunction with the launch of this framework, the Government has granted a master licence to Mascott Capital Partners, a licensed management company specializing in digital gaming licences. This master licence enables multinational operators to submit licensing applications through the Mascott Capital Partners platform. Both Mascott Capital Partners and its authorized partners will utilize a proprietary system to efficiently manage all international licences within a centralized platform.
During the launch event, H.E. Antonio-Pedro Oliveira Burupu, head of the Equatorial Guinea Ministry for Tourism and Tourism Infrastructure, expressed enthusiasm about the development:
“The launch of online gaming, online betting and online casinos in Equatorial Guinea is one of the most significant measures taken by gaming regulators in the country’s history and Mascott Capital Partners’ digital platform will assist in submitting online gaming licence applications.”
He further highlighted the strategic importance of this move:“This initiative represents a significant step forward in promoting Equatorial Guinea as a recognised jurisdiction for remote online gaming, online gambling and online casino businesses. It is also a significant step in diversifying Equatorial Guinea’s economy, attracting international investment to the digital space and strengthening consumer confidence in the remote online gaming services provided under Equatorial Guinea’s jurisdiction, making Equatorial Guinea an international destination of choice for iGaming.”
This groundbreaking development underscores Equatorial Guinea’s commitment to establishing itself as a competitive player in the global online gaming industry and signals a new era of regulated digital entertainment within the country.
