Finance Minister Advocates for Responsible Gaming in Uganda During Visit to NLGRB

Hon. Matia Kasaija’s recent visit to NLGRB reinforces the importance of a transparent and accountable gaming landscape in Uganda

On 31st October 2024, the Hon. Minister of Finance of Uganda, Matia Kasaija, visited the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB), where he expressed his commendation for the Board, Management, and Staff for their unwavering dedication to safeguarding the public against the negative impacts of gaming. He highlighted the importance of promoting Responsible Gaming within the sector.

During his visit, Minister Kasaija acknowledged the significant contribution of the gaming sector to the National Treasury, thanking the NLGRB for their diligent efforts. He noted that the regulatory advancements made by the NLGRB, particularly the implementation of the National Central Electronic Monitoring System, play a crucial role in bolstering the standards of Uganda’s gaming sector.

Furthermore, the Minister’s visit was seen as a reaffirmation of the shared commitment to fostering a transparent and socially responsible gaming environment.
