GambleAware publishes donations received in first quarter of 2024/25 financial year
GambleAware has announced its donation figures for the first quarter of the 2024/25 financial year, reporting £294,722.99 ($382,745) in research, prevention, and treatment (RPT) contributions from April to June 2024. donations
The organization also received £40,000 in regulatory settlement funding from a single operator arrangement with the Gambling Commission.
The Q1 figures reflect historical trends seen over the past four financial years, where the first quarter usually accounts for a smaller proportion of total annual donations compared to the fourth quarter.
This year is likely to mark the end of the voluntary funding model for initiatives related to gambling harm, as a statutory levy is expected to be introduced in the next fiscal year.
Currently, GambleAware depends on contributions from gambling operators, who are encouraged to donate a minimum of 0.1% of their annual Gross Gambling Yield (GGY) to support harm reduction efforts. Smaller operators with an annual GGY below £250,000 are encouraged to contribute at least £250. donations

Commenting on the development, GambleAware CEO Zoe Osmond stated: “As we transition to the new system it is essential that funding is maintained at the same level as previous years to ensure there is no disruption to prevention and treatment services for gambling harm.”
Among the largest donations were contributions from Star Racing, which donated £27,547.37, ProgressPlay with £24,346.68, Virgin Bet at £21,753.00, Postcode Lottery at £20,000.00, and Welcome Break with £19,300.00. GambleAware donations
