NLC and Western Cape Explore Partnership to Boost Arts, Culture and Sport

The National Lotteries Commission (NLC) has initiated a strategic engagement with the Western Cape Provincial Government to explore regional development opportunities.

Led by Commissioner Jodi Scholtz, the NLC held a stakeholder meeting with Western Cape MEC for Cultural Affairs and Sport Ricardo Mackenzie.

The primary objective of the engagement is to establish a collaborative partnership to advance the cultural, arts, and sports sectors across the Western Cape. Through joint efforts, the NLC and provincial authorities intend to support regional initiatives and foster long-term growth in these sectors.

The meeting forms part of the NLC’s ongoing commitment to working alongside provincial stakeholders. The broader aim of these partnerships is to ensure that lottery funding is distributed effectively and delivers a sustainable impact in local communities.

As part of the official provincial visit, Commissioner Scholtz will hand over NLC support to Cricket South Africa. The funding will support preparations for the 2027 Cricket World Cup.
