Okutoyi once again made history when she became the first Kenyan tennis player to win a professional singles title since Paul Wekesa in 1994 and only the second in history of the country.
The top-seeded player from Kenya won her maiden International Tennis Federation (ITF) Singles championship by defeating Isabella Harvison of the USA in straight sets in the W15 Monastir tournament final in Tunisia.

In route to the final, 2022 Wimbledon Junior Doubles Champion defeated German Helena Buchwald 7-5, 6-2, top-seeded Yasmine Mansouri from France 6-4, 6-0, fifth seeded Anastacia Abbagnato from Italy 6-2, 1-6, 6-1 and Indian Zeel Desai 6-1, 7-6

In addition to the title she will also move up WTA Doubles Rankings which will be a great achievement.
The ITF’s Junior Tennis Initiative, an important development program that gives kids all over the world the chance to pick up a racket for the first time, provided one of the Okutoyi’s first opportunities to play tennis.
Okutoyi made history at the 2022 Australian Open by becoming the first Kenyan girl to record a Junior Grand Slam match-win thanks to ongoing support from the ITF and Tennis Kenya.
She later paired up with Rose Nijkamp to win the girls’ doubles competition at the Junior Championships at Wimbledon in July 2022 as a member of the Grand Slam Player Development Program/ITF Touring Team.
Okutoyi now will focus on Kenya Opens slated for August 7-13 at the Nairobi Club.
