PUBG Mobile and Infinix Announce Kenya University Esports Tournament with $1,000 Prize Pool.

PUBG Mobile and smartphone maker Infinix have launched a nationwide university esports tournament in Kenya, with student gamers set to compete for a $1,000 prize pool and 10 Infinix GT 30 Pro smartphones.
The two brands said on Thursday, 28 that the PUBG MOBILE Varsity Showdown (PMVS) will run from mid-May to late June 2026. The competition will together university teams from across the country in a multi-stage competition.
Organizers have highlighted that the tournament will feature online qualifiers, quarter-finals and semi-finals. Finally it will culminate in offline grand finals, with dates to be announced
PUBG Mobile and Infinix announced that each of the participating teams shall consist of four players and one substitute. The tournament will be guided by the official PUBG Mobile tournament rules and scoring systems.
The event will give players a chance to experience the newly launched Infinix GT 30 Pro. Which organizers described as designed for smooth gaming performance, fast response and cooling capabilities for esports play.
The campaign will also include campus ambassador mobilization and community-driven engagement. It will also see social media creator campaigns take the main stage. This acknowledging the widespread digitalization of everyday events lately. There will also be weekly mini online tournaments and user-generated content challenges.
Registration is open to university students countrywide through an online form provided by the organisers.
