The National Lottery of Tanzania Has Launched a  TZS5bn (US$1.9m) in Lottery Jackpots and Prizes

The National Lottery of Tanzania  launched a nationwide promotional campaign offering more than TZS5bn (US$1.9m) in jackpots and prizes.

The board is using this strategic move as a way of increasing participation across the country’s regulated lottery sector. “Kuwa Mchezoni Ushinde” was launched early this month and gives every valid lottery ticket automatic entry into additional daily and weekly promotional draws. This in addition to the lottery’s regular games.

At the launch in Dar es Salaam, National Lottery director Kelvin Koka said the initiative is designed to increase winning opportunities for participants. It also expands engagement while enhancing value for players.

Prizes To be Won!

Prizes to be won include smartphones, televisions, tablets, TZS1m (US$380) cash prizes, motorcycles and Bajaj three-wheelers. That is according to promotional materials and adverts. The promotion is linked to the National Lottery’s existing products, including Lotto, Tamba na Namba, Spin4Cash and Toboa Chap Chap. According to the operator, the lottery’s existing products already offer daily jackpots, instant wins and cash prizes across multiple game formats.

These platforms are including Mix by Yas, Selcom Pesa and Airtel Money. Organizers also encouraged responsible gaming during the campaign period.

The National Lottery is operated by Ithuba Tanzania, the Tanzanian subsidiary of South African lottery operator Ithuba Holdings. The company secured an eight-year licence to operate the National Lottery following its appointment by Tanzania’s Gaming Board and has expanded access through digital channels and retail distribution networks.
