SBWA+ 2023: Day Two – Navigating the Future of iGaming With Expertise and Dynamic Engagement

Day Two of the eagerly awaited Sports Betting West Africa+ Summit 2023 started off with a jolt of excitement. Guests set out on a voyage of learning and collaboration, eager to take advantage of the business chances of the day and learn priceless insights from illustrious iGaming professionals. Oyeneye Seun, Chief Operating Officer of Starbet, opened the day with enthralling remarks that laid the groundwork for a day of unmatched insight into the West African iGaming sector.

The day’s discussions got underway with a captivating presentation on wise investing in the sports betting industry from Mindspring Capital investor Daniel Bernard.Bernard emphasized the industry’s explosive growth, which is being fueled by the popularity of mobile betting, market expansion, and data accessibility.

Adetoun Adeyemi, Head of Legal at Lagos State Lotteries & Gaming Authority, gave a presentation later in the morning. Adeyemi, who represented a significant gaming authority in Lagos and provided guests with a view into the future of the developing West African iGaming business, shared ideas for encouraging investment and promoting responsible gaming in the dynamic West African gaming industry.

A stimulating panel discussion about finding high-growth markets for African sports betting and ways to get access to them intensified the day’s events. The panelists—Solomon Godwin, Senior Business Development Manager, Olaitan Olanrewaju Samuel, Gaming Consult/Business Developer, DK Michael Aghaji, Head of Sales at E2 Communications, and Oyeneye Seun, Chief Operating Officer of Starbet—dived into critical insights to navigate the changing landscape as Johnson Adewale FOYE served as the discussion’s moderator.

The debate focused on bringing out the latent brilliance of women in African iGaming, offering new perspectives and opportunities under the expert moderating of TVBET Sales Manager Emily Asava. Unity Nwanze, Bunmi Oduba, and Maha Otu, three esteemed panelists, actively presented their experiences and accomplishments in the iGaming sector. By emphasizing the outstanding women in West Africa’s market, they showcased their knowledge while enthralling the audience with their views.

The engaging panel discussion focused on how artificial intelligence is changing the iGaming industry, and it was expertly handled by Jonathan Nwanze, Finance Manager (West Africa) at Velex Advisory.

After the lunch break, the audience continued to be highly interactive and interested, asking the speakers questions and sparking interesting debates. The conference room was constantly packed, which was a sign of how hungry the audience was to hear from the respected speakers. The exhibition floor, however, was a bustling hub with lively booths that attracted visitors with their cutting-edge wares and provided an additional chance for one-on-one networking.

Adewunmi Adeniji, Sales Manager at Globacom Limited (Glo), masterfully chaired a panel discussion that added to the day’s insightful journey. Industry leaders presented their thoughts on cutting-edge marketing strategies and the effectiveness of affiliate marketing for business growth, including Julius Fadipe from Soloti Gaming Ltd (FrapapaBet), Oliver Hooper, Head of Business Development at LiveScore, and Chinedu Okereke, Affiliate Manager.

The expert panel that followed was led by Oyeneye Seun and featured Oyindamola Michaels, the country manager at Kaizen Gaming, Fisayo Oke of Gamble Alert, Adesoji Babatunde from Starbet, and Akeem Olanrewaju Odukoya from betBonanza.
