SportPesa Backs Tanzania’s Grassroots Football with 500+ Kit Donation

SportPesa has extended its support to grassroots football in Tanzania by distributing more than 500 kits to young players across the country.
The donation was carried out under the company’s Game Changers initiative, with SportPesa collaborating closely with Regional Football Associations in eight different regions. This partnership helped identify teams and players most in need, ensuring the kits reached communities where resources are often limited.

Speaking on the impact of the initiative, Doreen Kwayu, Head of Operations at SportPesa Tanzania, said: “Football has always been a dream that seemed out of reach for many of the players awarded. The majority started playing at the district level and, with time, qualified for the regional level, often covering long distances and training with minimal resources.
“SportPesa Game Changers is central to our mission of Making It Count. The initiative is designed to provide an impact beyond the donation of kits. It encourages discipline, teamwork, and dedication among grassroots players looking to qualify for the award. Each region had its unique challenges, but the message was clear: talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not.”
