SportPesa Secures Major Sponsorship Deal with Shabana FC

In a significant move for Kenyan football, leading online gaming firm SportPesa announced a massive partnership deal worth 75 million to become the main sponsor of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League team Shabana FC. The sponsorship, which will span the next three seasons, is set to take effect from the upcoming 2024/25 campaign, commencing on August 24.

The partnership was unveiled during a ceremony attended by club patron Hon. Simba Arati, the current Governor of Kisii. This sponsorship marks SportPesa’s continued investment in Kenya’s sporting community, as Shabana FC becomes the third topflight club under the firm’s sponsorship, joining renowned teams Gor Mahia and Murang’a Seal.

SportPesa Head of Operations Bernard Chauro expressed excitement at the partnership, stating, “Today marks another big milestone for us in the sponsorships and partnerships realm. We have been in this game for a while and going forward, the Shabana management, players and fans should know that they have a reliable partner who can guarantee to walk the journey with them. Shabana have one of the most passionate fans in the country and we would love to see Shabana competing to the continental levels where some of our other sponsored teams are also playing.” SportPesa Shabana Sponsorship

I am happy as the patron of Shabana and I want to thank SportPesa for this partnership with us. I want to assure fans that I will also continue supporting the club in my capacity. To the management, please let us keep this money safe from vultures who will walk in and try to bring a lot of fights,” he remarked.

Shabana FC has bolstered its squad for the upcoming season with several key signings, including players like Elvis Osok, Titus Achesa, and Kevin Omundi. The club seems well-prepared for their 2024/25 season opener against Bidco United, scheduled to take place at Thika Stadium on August 24. With a promising roster and a strong sponsorship backing, the future looks bright for Shabana FC as they aim for success in the league and beyond. SportPesa Shabana Sponsorship
