SportyBet Unveiled as Official Betting Partner of Nairobi United in KSh 380 Million Deal
SportyBet has announced a major partnership with Kenyan Premier League side Nairobi United, becoming the club’s official betting partner in a deal worth KSh 380 million.
The partnership was officially unveiled during a grand event held at Mass House in Nairobi, which brought together football personalities, government officials, club management, players, and fans.
During the event, Nairobi United also showcased the major trophies it has recently won, including the FKF Cup, also known as the MozzartBet Cup, and the FKF National Super League title.
The event was attended by prominent Kenyan footballers, including FKF Deputy President MacDonald Mariga, as well as former footballers Denis Oliech, Musa Otieno, Boniface Ambani, Sammy Shollei and Edward Karanja. Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, who is also the club’s patron as well as Dr. Bernard Ouma, the Director of Sports in charge of Research, Training and Competitions at the State Department for Sports, graced the occasion. A number of Nairobi United fans were also in attendance, cheering on the club and celebrating the new partnership.
Speaking during the event, Nairobi United CEO Nelson Odaya gave a brief history of the club, which was launched in 2018. Odaya recalled the challenges the club faced in its early years, noting that it struggled before receiving support from Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja. He added that the club later met Osman Khalif, the club’s chairman, as part of its journey towards growth.
Nairobi United Head Coach Patrick Aussems welcomed the new partnership, expressing confidence that it would help the club become more professional and achieve greater success.
“This new partnership means that Nairobi United is going far. It means that we are going to be more professional. I can tell you that with this new sponsorship, the club is going far,” Aussems said.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Vice President MacDonald Mariga also welcomed the partnership, saying that more sponsors were needed to support football clubs in Kenya.
“I am happy for the sponsorship. As a player, I would love more sponsors on board to support our teams. What you are giving this team is more than the logo on the front of their jerseys. It is the school fees they will be paying, the food they will put on the table,” Mariga said.

Mariga also addressed the Federation’s future plans to introduce a salary cap for Premier League clubs. He called on well-wishers to support players in pursuing education, noting that the transition into life after football can be challenging for many players. He concluded by applauding Nairobi United’s management for ensuring that players receive their salaries on time.
SportyBet Kenya Country Manager Dianne Maina Nyakio officially announced the partnership, directing her message to the players and assuring them of the company’s support.
“To the players, you are the heart of this venture, and we stand with you,” she said.
The official unveiling of Nairobi United’s new jersey is scheduled to take place during the club’s match against Gor Mahia on Sunday, 8 November, with Gor Mahia playing at home.
The event also featured a surprise appearance by Heha Movers, a viral Kenyan deadpan comedy and content creation group originating from Kibera (Kibra), Nairobi. Their appearance added an entertaining touch to the evening, which celebrated Nairobi United’s achievements and the beginning of its new partnership with SportyBet.
