The firm believes that Africa presents some of the industry’s most exciting growth opportunities, prompting it to seek out locally-led businesses to help transform them into regional leaders.
Tekkorp’s strategy includes shining a spotlight on the African gaming market to attract more businesses seeking to enter this burgeoning space. In targeting Africa, Tekkorp aims to provide comprehensive support to its investors in operational, technical, and strategic domains while enhancing access to capital. This support encompasses product solutions, media partnerships, payments, and legal expertise to solidify its investments and operations.
Founder and chairman of Tekkorp Capital, Matt Davey, is optimistic about the prospects for growth in the African market. Tekkorp Capital Names Conor O’Donovan as New Africa Partner
To spearhead its efforts in Africa, Tekkorp has appointed Conor O’Donovan as its Africa partner. O’Donovan, who has been an associate partner at Tekkorp since March 2023, will lead the firm’s initiatives in the region. His role entails identifying new opportunities in Africa and assembling an advisory and management team to oversee investments and operations.
O’Donovan comes equipped with extensive experience in the African gaming sector, having founded Tribe54, an investment company focused on payments, fintech, gaming, and gambling in Africa. He has also spent five years with the NewPlay Group and has worked with Betyetu Group, a sports betting and gaming business active in East and West Africa. He remarked, “Tekkorp, alongside our strategic partners, is well-equipped to navigate these complexities and bring out the potential in strong, locally led businesses.”
