“The LONASE Way”: Senegal’s National Lottery Launches New Digital Platform.

The National Lottery of Senegal (LONASE) has launched LONASE Way. A new online gaming platform developed in partnership with Jaap Senegal.

The platform was officially unveiled during a ceremony in Dakar on June 8. This comes days after another Lottery body in Africa, Sizekhaya, took over South Africa lottery. Sizekhaya vowed technology as their number one feature to improve the state of lottery in the country.

Today AI and gen Z are the key determiners of success in mostly any business. Be it in lottery or basic sports betting. Mobile penetration and internet access in Africa is at its peak, arguably. These socio-economic factors are pushing digitalization in firms such as LONASE.

LONASE director general Toussaint Manga said the project reflects the organization’s confidence in local expertise. As well as its ability to develop solutions tailored to the country’s needs.

“We are not only celebrating the launch of a new platform, but the triumph of local know-how, courage and resilience,” he said.

LONASE described LONASE Way as a “100 per cent Senegalese innovation” and a major step in the modernisation of its gaming offering. Manga said the initiative aligns with Senegal’s wider focus on sovereignty across key sectors.

Manga added, “In these times when sovereignty in all sectors is at the heart of the State’s orientations, every choice we make counts. The future of gaming is online.”

The launch comes as LONASE seeks to expand its online gaming activities after historically concentrating much of its business through its retail network. “The future of gaming is online,” Manga said.

The development follows a series of partnership agreements signed in February 2026 to support the development of its online gaming activities.
