Women in Gaming Africa Announces Collaboration with ICE Barcelona 2026

Women in Gaming Africa (WiGA) is proud to announce its collaboration with ICE, the world’s most influential gaming industry event, as it enters its second year in its new home of Barcelona. ICE remains the global benchmark for gaming innovation, leadership, and community – widely recognised as the mothership of annual gaming events – and WiGA is honoured to contribute to strengthening Africa’s visibility, representation, and voice on this prestigious stage.
As part of this collaboration, WiGA will co-host the ICE WGF Africa Drinks Reception on Day Two of ICE Barcelona (Tuesday, 20 January 2026) at Fira Barcelona, the event’s world-class convention centre. This reception will bring together a curated guest list of African regulators, C-level operators, industry leaders, and partners, alongside WiGA members, friends, and allies. Designed to celebrate Africa’s dynamic gaming ecosystem, the event will feature drinks, canapés, entertainment, and an unmistakable African flair.
The partnership between ICE and WiGA also forms part of a shared commitment to DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging), as well as the long-term development and commercial expansion of the African gaming landscape. With Africa emerging as one of the most innovative and fast-growing markets in global gaming, this collaboration aims to elevate the continent’s profile, foster meaningful international connections, and build a stronger bridge between Africa’s regulators, operators, suppliers, and global stakeholders.
“ICE Barcelona is where the global gaming agenda is shaped,” said Lois Bright, Founder of WiGA. “Our presence at ICE ensures that Africa is not only in the room, but at the forefront of conversations about innovation, regulation, and future industry growth. We are committed to being long-term collaborators with ICE, and to building an African presence that is both visible and influential.”

“ICE Barcelona is committed to strengthening our ties to Africa as a driver of global gaming growth” said Damien Ashton-Wellman, Conference Manager & Head of Content for ICE “The WGF offers a show within a show, perfectly designed to meet the demands of C-leaders and regulators attending ICE, through both deep dive content, but also exclusive networking drinks like these. Partnering with WiGA allows us to connect deeper, but to do so with the focus we are all committed too: championing underrepresented voices in gaming.”
Set against the backdrop of Barcelona’s cutting-edge event venue and global industry convergence, the ICE WGF Africa Drinks Reception, held from 17:30 – 19:00 on Tuesday 20 January promises to be a highlight of the 2026 programme; celebrating the people, partnerships, and progress driving Africa’s gaming future.
