National Lottery Authority Champions Digital Literacy and Inclusion for Youth with Disabilities

The National Lottery Authority (NLA) of Liberia has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering youth and promoting responsible digital participation, emphasizing the need for better digital literacy and the full inclusion of youth with disabilities in smart gaming.
On April 8, 2026, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in partnership with the Rethink Tech Foundation, officially launched a new Digital Computer Training Center in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County. The initiative was designed to provide hands-on training in Information and Communication Technology and was supported by the National Lottery Authority (NLA), which used the event to advocate for enhanced digital literacy and the inclusion of young people with disabilities (ICT).
Representing NLA Director General Honorable Peter L. Solo, Marketing Director Mr. Kai Gee characterized the new center as a transformative intervention for equipping young Liberians with essential skills in specialized fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and online application-based gaming. He stated that these skills will not only increase their employability but also serve as a vital defense against online fraud and Ponzi schemes.

Mr. Gee emphasized, “We find these efforts highly commendable. The National Lottery Authority remains fully supportive of programs that foster youth innovation, empowerment, and sustainable development, particularly for vulnerable groups, including persons living with disabilities.”
