DigiPlus Expands Its Africa Footprint with Entry into the South African Market

A digital entertainment platform based in the Philippines, DigiPlus Interactive Corp has reached a significant milestone in its international expansion by securing a regulatory license to operate in South Africa.
South Africa is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most mature and well-regulated gambling markets, making it a key hub for the continent’s digital gaming growth. The sector generated an estimated $4.9 billion in revenue in 2025, reflecting its substantial economic impact.
The licensing process in South Africa is rigorous, involving strict probity checks for the company and its ultimate beneficial owners, followed by platform testing. While this process typically takes at least six months to complete, DigiPlus, led by Chairman Eusebio Tanco, has successfully navigated these requirements to establish a local legal entity.
The expansion is anchored by the acquisition of three key licenses from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB), a national manufacturer license, a bookmaker license, and a bookmaker premises license. The WCGRB is considered a preferred jurisdiction for international operators due to its transparent regulatory structure and readiness for digital operations.
By expanding into South Africa, DigiPlus aims to combine its commitment to local compliance with products that resonate deeply with local culture and community, positioning itself at the forefront of the continent’s evolving digital landscape.
