NLGRB Shut Down Illicit Gaming Shops and Manufacturing Network in Kibuku

The National Lottery and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB), through an intelligence-led enforcement operation in Kibuku Town, successfully shut down four illegal gaming shops belonging to Chinese national Liang Zhang Chen. 

What began as a targeted enforcement action in Kibuku quickly expanded into a much larger operation. Initially, enforcement teams successfully closed down the four illegal gaming shops. However, as investigations progressed, a crucial tip from an informant led investigators to Zhang Chen’s private residence in Palisa. 

A search of the residence uncovered an active manufacturing workshop, which greatly expanded the scope of the operation. This discovery shifted the focus from merely closing illegal shops to dismantling a production facility, representing a major escalation in our enforcement efforts.

The success of this enforcement was made possible through vital cooperation. We deeply appreciate the support of the Regional Police Commander, the Regional CID Officer for the Bukedi region, and the Kibuku District police officers for their cooperation. Furthermore, the informant is highly commended, as their valuable leads were key to making this operation a success.
