betPawa Expands Financial Commitment to Ghana Football with Women’s FA Cup Sponsorship

Ghana Premier League sponsors, betPawa, have announced an expanded financial commitment to Ghana football, detailing that the Women’s FA Cup will now also receive their financial backing.

According to Ntoudi Mouyelo, Managing Director of Mchezo Limited, the firm behind betPawa, this renewed package will entail an investment of GH¢7 million into the country’s premier football competitions over the next five years.

Mouyelo announced that the locker room bonus, which was initially designated for the men’s league, will now extend to the Women’s FA Cup starting from the round of 16. Furthermore, the locker room bonus will also apply to include three members of the winning team’s technical staff, highlighting the significance of the non-playing members.

For the upcoming 2024/2025 season, this will result in an investment of GH¢1.4 million specifically for locker room bonuses. “We expect to pay at least 3,500 players by the end of the season. That amounts to GH¢1.4 million. So within the next five seasons, we expect to pay GH¢7 million across both the men’s and women’s divisions,” stated Ntoudi Mouyelo during a conversation with selected journalists in Accra.

He also revealed that his organization plans to begin phase two of the football pitch construction at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence shortly. “Because we have changed the original contract to a locker room contract, we have decided, as I said before, to continue the work on the stadium. But it is no longer under the contract with GFA. So this is a pure CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative between us and the contractors,” he added.
