betPawa Invests $132,000 in Cameroon’s Top-Tier Women’s Football League

betPawa has expanded its award-winning Locker Room Bonus (LRB) programme with a new $132,000 investment in Cameroon’s FECAFOOT Women’s League, further strengthening its commitment to player welfare and sports development across Africa.

The sponsorship will see players rewarded directly for their performances throughout the season, with every player on a winning team receiving 25,000 CFA francs after each eligible match.

The introduction of Locker Room Bonus to the FECAFOOT Women’s League marks the latest chapter in a programme that has already transformed player welfare across multiple African markets. Through LRB, betPawa has distributed direct performance-based rewards to thousands of athletes competing in football and basketball competitions across the continent.

Cameroon joins a growing list of countries where Locker Room Bonus is helping ensure players benefit directly from the success of their teams. The programme is currently active in Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, and Cameroon, rewarding athletes and strengthening local sporting ecosystems.

Over the years, Locker Room Bonus has been implemented across some of Africa’s most competitive leagues and tournaments, including football and basketball competitions, creating a player-first sponsorship model that places athletes at the centre of investment.

Cameroon has long been recognised as one of Africa’s football powerhouses, producing world-class talent and playing a significant role in the growth of the game across the continent. As investment in women’s football continues to grow, the FECAFOOT Women’s League has emerged as an important platform for developing the next generation of players.

Through the Locker Room Bonus initiative, betPawa is helping ensure that players directly benefit from that growth.

Speaking on the launch, Borah Ndanyungu, Head of Local Marketing and CSR at betPawa, said: “At betPawa, we believe the athletes who make sport possible should be the first to benefit from its growth. The Locker Room Bonus has already demonstrated its impact across Africa by putting money directly into the hands of players, and we are excited to bring that same opportunity to the women competing in Cameroon’s FECAFOOT Women’s League. This investment reflects our commitment to supporting athletes, strengthening local sports ecosystems and creating meaningful opportunities for women in football.”

Also speaking at the event in Yaounde, Samuel Eto’o, President of FECAFOOT, commended the initiative and said: “What betPawa is doing with the Locker Room Bonus goes beyond football. I know how happy the advocates of women’s football will be.”

The latest investment further strengthens betPawa’s footprint in Cameroon, where the company already supports both the men’s and women’s national basketball leagues through its partnership with FECABASKET.
