Charlene Ludick Appointed General Manager of Meropa Casino & Entertainment World

Sun International has named Charlene Ludick as the new General Manager of Meropa Casino & Entertainment World. In this role, she will lead both the strategic vision and daily operations of the Limpopo property and will oversee performance standards, guest experience, team leadership, regulatory compliance and engagement with key stakeholders and the broader community.

With more than 25 years of leadership experience across gaming, hospitality, tourism and financial services, Ludick brings a track record of steering integrated resort operations within tightly regulated markets. Her career has included senior regional and multi-property roles, equipping her with broad operational and portfolio management expertise. In her new position, she will report to Peter Tshidi, Director of Small and Medium Properties, as well as to the Meropa Board.

Charlene is widely respected for her people centred, values driven leadership approach. We wish her every success as she leads Meropa into its next phase of sustainable growth,” said Tshidi.

Just days into her appointment, a man won R1 million on the Pompeii slot machine in the private gaming area at Meropa Casino & Entertainment World in Polokwane. The payout, the first million-rand win since she took up the role, marked an encouraging start to her tenure. The winner chose to remain anonymous and plans to use part of the prize for an overseas trip.

I am only a week into the position and no sooner had I stepped through the door than we created a millionaire,” Charlene said. “Having winners on our casino floor is always the best news for us.”
