Gaming Board of Tanzania Announces Recruitment for Key Positions to Strengthen Regulatory Oversight
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania — The Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT), the premier public institution responsible for regulating, monitoring, and overseeing gaming activities across the country under the Gaming Act No. 4 of 2003, is pleased to announce the recruitment of qualified Tanzanians to fill several critical positions aimed at enhancing its operational effectiveness and regulatory capacity.
The positions available include:
1. Inspection and Compliance Manager
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Gaming, Economics, Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, ICT, or equivalent from recognized institutions
- Minimum of 8 years’ relevant work experience, with senior-level expertise
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Inspection and Compliance section
- Advise the Director of Strategic Operations on gaming inspections
- Coordinate and oversee inspections of gaming devices and activities
- Develop and maintain a database of gaming devices
- Monitor licensee compliance and performance
- Conduct studies to identify legislative gaps and recommend improvements
- Support and mentor inspection staff
2. Communication Officer I
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, International Relations, Business Communication, or related fields
- At least 4 years’ relevant experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop communication strategies and plans
- Coordinate public events, media relations, and CSR initiatives
- Manage GBT’s social media platforms and website updates
- Prepare press releases, media kits, and promotional materials
- Monitor public sentiment and media coverage
- Ensure positive brand representation and internal communication

3. Accountant II
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, or Business Administration (with CPA (T) or equivalent)
Key Responsibilities:
- Record and manage invoices and payments
- Handle cash and petty cash journals
- Prepare accounting schedules and bank reconciliations
- Support financial reporting and audit processes
4. Risk Management Officer II
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Social Protection, Insurance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, or related fields
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, assess, and recommend risk management policies
- Develop risk response and business continuity plans
- Maintain and update the GBT Risk Register
- Promote risk awareness within the organization
Remuneration for all positions will be in accordance with the GBT salary scale.

– Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level education should be verified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA);
– Professional certificates from foreign universities and other training institutions should be verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and National Council for Technical Education (NACTE).
