National Lottery Board Briefs the Ministry of Culture on Its Milestones and Future Roadmap
The National Lottery Board of Kenya has hosted senior leadership from the Ministry of Gender, Culture, and Children Services to formally brief them on the board’s key milestones and its future.
The briefing was conducted by Dr. Farida Karoney, Board Chairperson, EGH, alongside Board members. It was delivered to Hanna Wendot Cheptumo, Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture and Children Services, and Ummi Bashir, CBS, Principal Secretary for Culture, the Arts, and Heritage. The meeting allowed the Board to outline its progress toward implementing its core mandate and establishing operational readiness.
A key part of the Board’s strategy is to build a credible and accountable institution that earns public trust. Beyond its administrative role, the National Lottery’s main purpose is to raise funds to support good causes across Kenya.

“As this work progresses, our focus remains on building a credible and accountable institution , a National Lottery that earns public trust and mobilises resources for good causes across Kenya: charitable causes, economic and youth empowerment, sports, arts, culture and heritage, emergency response, and signature national projects,” the Board wrote.
Funding generated through the lottery is to support a wide range of national priorities, including charitable causes, economic and youth empowerment programmes, sports, arts, culture, and heritage initiatives, emergency response measures, and signature national projects.
The Board expressed gratitude to the Ministry for its ongoing support and pledged to keep the public informed as operationalisation moves forward.
