The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) recently engaged in a high-level discussion with the Uganda Child Rights NGO Network (UCRNN) to protect Uganda’s youth from underage gambling.

The key message of this collaboration is that safeguarding childhoods is a shared responsibility. Both the NLGRB and UCRNN emphasize that the industry, regulators, and child rights advocates must work together to shield children from the potential dangers of gambling-related harm.

By combining the NLGRB’s regulatory oversight with UCRNN’s grassroots advocacy, the partnership aims to strengthen child protection efforts through increased awareness and proactive monitoring. The discussions focused on practical initiatives to enhance these protections.

This collaboration is expected to lead to more effective strategies for identifying and preventing underage access to gaming facilities and platforms.
