Choplife acquires rights to operate betPawa in Nigeria

PawaTech Group has entered into a four-year licensing agreement with Choplife Gaming, allowing the latter to operate the prominent sports betting brand betPawa in Nigeria.

This partnership signifies a strategic expansion for betPawa, which has already established itself as a leading betting platform across various African countries including Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Benin, and Ghana, where it has been successfully licensed to Choplife.

The agreement empowers Choplife Gaming with the rights to operate betPawa in Nigeria, demonstrating its dedication to furthering collaboration with pawaTech Group through an upfront licence fee model. This model, which has already been implemented in the five existing markets, has now been extended to include Nigeria, bringing the total to six markets where Choplife Gaming holds the license for betPawa.

Kresten Buch, Executive Chairman of pawaTech Group, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We have successfully worked with Choplife Gaming in other markets and are excited about their willingness to co-invest into the Nigerian market with us.”

betPawa has emerged as a significant player in the online gaming sector, offering a variety of services that cater to the diverse needs of African customers. With operations currently spanning 17 markets across Africa, the platform provides users with a fast, convenient, and exhilarating betting experience. Its offerings include a wide array of sports betting options alongside virtual and casino games, ensuring a user-friendly environment for players.

Choplife Gaming’s Chairman, Oluwatosin Ajibade—better known as Mr Eazi—shared his excitement about the new venture, proclaiming, “It’s an exciting moment to bring the operational excellence we have perfected in five African countries to Nigeria. Together with betPawa I believe we will bring safe, trustworthy and superior gaming experience to punters and be market leaders in the near future.”
