ISJ Raises Awareness Against Illegal Gambling at Regedoria and Luanda Sul Markets

The Institute of Game Supervision (ISJ), in collaboration with the Municipal Administration of Viana, recently conducted a series of awareness and prevention activities to combat illegal gambling among merchants and customers at the Regedoria and Luanda Sul Markets.

This campaign is a key component of a broader strategy to strengthen supervision and inspection mechanisms within the Angola gaming sector. Through these efforts, the ISJ aims to achieve several important social and institutional objectives, including ensuring public trust in the gaming industry, protecting vulnerable populations from the risks associated with unregulated gambling, safeguarding public health, and promoting a culture of legality and responsible gaming.

The initiative was led by the ISJ’s Deputy General Director, Cláudio Paulo, with support from Afonso da Silva, the Head of the Supervision and Inspection Department. During these interactions, the team provided essential clarifications to citizens regarding the risks associated with the illicit exploitation of gambling activities, as well as the legal responsibilities and potential implications for those involved. 

To ensure that the message resonated effectively within the community, the ISJ distributed various educational materials such as flyers, roll-ups, and posters. These materials conveyed strategic messages designed to discourage illegal practices and emphasize the importance of legal and responsible gambling.

Building on the success of the activities in Viana, the ISJ has reaffirmed its commitment to intensify education, prevention, and inspection efforts across the entire country. The institute continues to advocate for a culture rooted in respect for the law and encourages all citizens to actively participate in the fight against illegal gambling.
