Tanzania Gaming Board and PMO-RALG Sign MoU to Strengthen Gaming Oversight
The Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT) and the Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG) have recently entered into a new partnership aimed at strengthening coordination in the management of gaming activities across Tanzania.
The two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on July 22, 2026, which establishes a framework for closer cooperation between the gaming regulator and the government structures responsible for regional administration and local government.
The agreement was signed by GBT Director General James B. Mbalwe and PMO-RALG Permanent Secretary Adolf H. Ndunguru during a ceremony attended by officials from both institutions.

Under the MoU, GBT and PMO-RALG will work together across several areas linked to the management and oversight of gaming activities. These include public awareness initiatives, information sharing, capacity building and joint monitoring of compliance with gaming laws and regulations.
The partnership will also strengthen coordination between the Gaming Board and Local Government Authorities to bring local government structures into closer cooperation with the national gaming regulator.
