Lagos, Nigeria: Samuel Meyiwa, aged 26, has been presented to the Yaba Magistrate’s Court on allegations of using his employer’s money for gambling without authorization. Lagos Employer
According to Naija News, the Lagos State Police Command brought the defendant before Magistrate A.O Salawu on Thursday, where they faced a single charge of theft.
Based on court reports, Meyiwa was employed by the Freedom Pure Water Company in Bariga as a truck driver in March. His primary duties involved selling sachet water.
Nevertheless, it has recently been revealed that he has been siphoning off a fraction of his daily sales earnings towards sports betting in an undisclosed gambling establishment, all concealed from his employer’s awareness. Lagos Court Gambling Employer Money

According to additional information, it has been discovered that Meyiwa sold a sachet of water valued at N88,000 in October but neglected to submit the money.
Instead, he informed his employer several days later that customers owed him, which eventually became a repetitive occurrence, as reported by the person lodging the complaint.
During November, Meyiwa stuck to his regular routine of taking off with bags full of N300,000 worth of sachet water.
Despite successfully delivering all the products, he unfortunately gambled away the money and, upon losing, promptly disappeared.
All attempts made to reach him were in vain until his presence was noticed at a different company, leading to his subsequent arrest by the police.
