Celebrating 2024’s Top 50 Most Influential Women in Gaming, Africa: Olamide Alaba

Olamide Alaba is a dynamic marketing professional based in Malta, recognized for her expertise in crypto, iGaming, and influencer management. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a profound passion for marketing, leveraging her skills to drive brand growth and customer engagement across the African continent.

With over a decade of experience, Olamide has played a pivotal role in establishing and scaling major brands, making her a leading figure in Africa’s iGaming industry.

Olamide began her career in 2013 as a writer, where she developed her content creation and storytelling abilities. Over the years, she has contributed significantly to brand advancement and customer retention across various sectors, showcasing her versatile skill set.

Her entry into the iGaming sector came when she assumed the role of Marketing Manager at CommunicationsArc. In March 2022, Olamide became the Africa Marketing Executive for Yolo Group, where she was instrumental in the company’s entry into the African market. She focused on developing strategic partnerships with key influencers and thought leaders, significantly enhancing Yolo Group’s digital presence.

Notably, her involvement in the “Join The Crypto Experience” program, which successfully onboarded over 50 influencers in the crypto and gaming space, was a key factor in driving market adoption and expanding brand visibility across Africa.

Before her tenure at Yolo Group, Olamide held various key positions, including Chief Operating Officer at PopAdLink.com and Chief Marketing Officer at CommunicationsArc. Her prior experience as a Marketing Executive at Naija Lottery and a Communications Associate at Urbane Aries further solidified her marketing credentials. Additionally, she served as the Head of Implementation at Bomay Group and as a Customer Support Specialist for Dr. Kay Planner in Lagos, Nigeria.

Olamide holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Agricultural Extension and Communication from the Federal University of Technology Akure, which she completed between 2012 and 2017. As Olamide continues to shape the future of iGaming and crypto in Africa, she remains a powerful force known for her leadership and commitment to fostering growth in the industry.
