iGaming AFRIKA: What is Gaming Tech Summit Africa 2025?
David Moshi: Gaming Tech Summit Africa 2025 is the continent’s premier platform where gaming, technology, regulation, and innovation converge. It brings together key stakeholders from across Africa and beyond—regulators, operators, tech innovators, investors, and policymakers—to explore the future of gaming in Africa. GTSA is more than just a conference; it’s a movement towards shaping a progressive, inclusive, and well-regulated and balanced gaming ecosystem for the continent.
iGaming AFRIKA: Your first edition of the event in 2024 was all about regulations in the gaming space in Africa attracting over 13 regulators from various countries across Africa. Do we expect to see something similar this year?
David Moshi: Absolutely. Regulation continues to be a cornerstone of sustainable gaming in Africa. In 2025, we are building on that foundation, but with an expanded agenda. We’re bringing even more regulators to the table about 25 regulators from the gaming industry, Central Banks, ICT, Data protection, intellectual property, Revenue authorities, alongside tech leaders, esports and gaming entrepreneurs—to foster cross-border collaboration, explore harmonization of policies, and dive into the impact of technology on regulatory frameworks.
iGaming AFRIKA: What are the main objectives of the Gaming Tech Summit Africa 2025 and what are some of the major challenges the event seeks to address within the industry?
David Moshi: Our main objectives are to drive innovation, promote regulatory clarity, encourage responsible gaming, and unlock investment in the African gaming ecosystem. One major challenge we’re addressing is the fragmented regulatory environment, which often hinders growth. We’re also tackling the fast pace of tech evolution, data security concerns, and the need for more localized content and infrastructure.
iGaming AFRIKA: Who is the target audience for the event?
David Moshi: The summit is designed for a broad audience: gaming operators, tech developers, regulators, policy makers, fintech leaders, investors, Esports and even legal professionals. Whether you’re building gaming platforms, crafting policy, or looking to explore investment opportunities in Africa’s gaming and esport space—this event is for you.
