NDPC Partners with Enugu Gaming Conference 2025 to Champion Data Protection and Cybersecurity in Nigeria’s Gaming Industry
Enugu, Nigeria – June 2, 2025 – The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has officially partnered with the 2nd edition of the Enugu Gaming Conference & Exhibitions, taking place on July 30–31, 2025 at the International Conference Centre, Enugu. This strategic collaboration aims to educate and empower gaming regulators, operators, and tech stakeholders across Nigeria on compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) and the urgent need for cybersecurity readiness in the digital gaming space.
As the gaming industry in Nigeria continues to evolve following the Supreme Court ruling that decentralized regulation to the states, the risks and responsibilities associated with handling sensitive user data have multiplied. This year’s conference theme, “From Unification to Diversification – Shaping Nigeria’s Gaming Future,” presents a timely opportunity to explore how data governance and digital safety can be embedded in this new regulatory structure.

In a major highlight of the conference, the NDPC will lead a special session titled:
“Data Protection & Cybersecurity in a Decentralized Gaming Industry: Enforcing the NDP Act Across Nigeria”
This session will provide practical insights into data compliance for gaming operators and guidance for state regulators on their responsibilities under the NDPA, including risk management, breach reporting, and data audit requirements.
Prince Arinze Arum, Executive Secretary/CEO of the Enugu State Gaming and Lotto Commission, described the partnership as “a turning point for responsible gaming in Nigeria.”
“The involvement of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission signals a serious commitment to building a transparent, secure, and accountable gaming ecosystem. This is the kind of leadership and collaboration we need to prepare our operators and state regulators for a truly digital future,” Prince Arum stated.
Vanessa Ayogu, Project Executive of Events Arcade Solutions Limited, the official conference organizers, also emphasized the unique value this partnership brings to the gaming industry.
“We are proud to have NDPC join us in shaping a smarter and safer gaming future. This session will not only clarify compliance pathways but will also strengthen the trust of players, investors, and governments in the gaming sector,” said Ayogu.
According to the organizers, participants at the session will benefit from:
Expert presentations by NDPC officials
A technical panel with legal and cybersecurity experts
A compliance clinic for operators and regulators
Exclusive access to NDPA compliance handbooks customized for the gaming sector
This partnership is expected to pave the way for more structured collaborations between data protection authorities and gaming regulators across Nigeria’s 36 states.
