NLGRB Announces Cease of BETKUMI Operations in Uganda

The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) – Uganda has officially announced that Reys and Meys SMC Limited, trading as BETKUMI, has ceased its operations in the country.
The public notice, issued by management on April 14, 2026, serves as a formal notification under Section 4(j) of the Lotteries and Gaming Act, CAP 334. The NLGRB has issued specific instructions for all “punters” (players) currently using the BETKUMI platform, advising them to refrain from placing any new bets and to withdraw any remaining balances from their accounts immediately.

The NLGRB has provided dedicated channels for individuals with concerns or issues regarding the cessation of BETKUMI’s services. This move is part of the board’s commitment to responsible gaming and ensuring the protection of participants within Uganda’s gaming industry.
