Gaming Board of Tanzania and PMO-RALG Sign MoU to Strengthen Gaming Regulation Collaboration in Tanzania

The Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT) has officially entered into a strategic partnership with the Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a significant step toward strengthening collaboration in the regulating of gaming activities in Tanzania.
This collaboration aims to bridge oversight gaps by focusing on key pillars such as public awareness through education on gaming regulations and responsible gaming practices, information sharing via transparent communication channels between national and local governments, capacity building to enhance skills and resources for managing gaming activities, and joint compliance monitoring to ensure strict adherence to gaming laws through coordinated efforts.
Beyond technical management, this partnership is rooted in a shared commitment to good governance, accountability, and improved service delivery. By aligning their efforts, GBT and PMO-RALG aim to ensure that the gaming industry operates within a framework that is both transparent and highly effective.
The signing of this MoU represents a step toward effective institutional collaboration in Tanzania. By combining the regulatory expertise of the GBT with the regional reach of the PMO-RALG, the partnership is poised to create a more robust and well-governed gaming landscape for the nation.
The agreement was formalized by Mr. James B. Mbalwe, the Director General of GBT, and Mr. Adolf H. Ndunguru, the Permanent Secretary of PMO-RALG.
