iGaming AFRIKA Joins ‘I Pad A Girl’ Initiative to Combat Period Poverty in Nigeria
iGaming AFRIKA recently stood alongside the ‘I Pad A Girl’ project to ensure young girls in Nigeria can navigate adolescence with dignity and confidence.
The I Pad A Girl Project is a charitable initiative founded by TV host and producer Zzini Oluchi Ekeh, to combat period poverty and support adolescent schoolgirls. The project’s core activities include distributing care kits containing sanitary pads and hygiene essentials, as well as providing education on puberty and menstrual health.
On July 21, 2026, the project officially commenced at JOAK Secondary School in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos. This inaugural event served as a comprehensive empowerment session for 80 girls ranging from JSS1 to SSS3.
Understanding that menstrual hygiene requires more than just a single product, the initiative provided beneficiaries with complete hygiene kits. These included sanitary pads and wipes, bathing soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, tissue paper, and shaving sticks.

This holistic approach was also supported by contributions from partners such as iGaming AFRIKA, AquilaMediaCo, Anchor Heights, and others.
In addition to receiving resources, the girls participated in educational workshops. These sessions provided practical demonstrations on the proper use of products and created a “judgment-free environment” where students could ask questions about their changing bodies, helping to eliminate the fear and shame often associated with puberty.
Founder Zzini Oluchi Ekeh, noting, “Too many girls still miss school because they cannot afford sanitary products or because they are ashamed to talk about menstruation. We believe every girl deserves access to the knowledge and resources that will help her stay healthy, remain in school and embrace womanhood without fear or embarrassment. This project is our contribution to making that a reality.”
