NWGB Honors World Ranger Day 2026 at Vaalkop Nature Reserve
The North West Gambling Board (NWGB) recently joined forces with the North West Department of Economic Development, Environment, Conservation, and Tourism (DEDECT) and the North West Parks and Tourism Board to celebrate World Ranger Day 2026 at Vaalkop Nature Reserve.
The event was centered around the timely theme: “Rangers: Guardians of a Changing Planet.” The commemoration served as a platform to honor the brave men and women who work tirelessly to protect the province’s biodiversity and natural heritage.
A significant portion of the ceremony was dedicated to paying tribute to those rangers who have tragically lost their lives or sustained injuries while serving on the front lines of environmental protection.
To recognize the high standards maintained by these conservationists, the event featured awards for excellence and discipline, leadership in the field, and unwavering dedication to conservation.
