National Lottery Authority Holds Retreat to Boost Performance and Coordination

The National Lottery Authority (NLA) of Liberia concluded a three-day management retreat aimed at strengthening institutional coordination, improving organizational performance, and ensuring strategic alignment across all divisions, departments, and units.

The engagement brought together the NLA management team and heads of divisions, departments, and units to review and refine the Authority’s operational framework and enhance service delivery, efficiency, and accountability.

Hon. Peter L. Solo, Director General of the NLA, noted that effective institutional performance requires clearly defined responsibilities, coordinated planning, and a shared understanding of organizational priorities.

A central priority of the retreat was a comprehensive review of the Terms of Reference (ToRs) for all divisions, departments, and units. Management evaluated existing work plans to align them with institutional priorities while reviewing the delegation of duties, clarifying reporting lines, and addressing operational overlaps or gaps. This process is expected to promote greater clarity, teamwork, and accountability across the organization.

The retreat establishes a stronger foundation for executing NLA programs in line with the Authority’s overall mandate. Moving forward, management expects to operate within a clearer, more coordinated framework featuring enhanced performance-monitoring mechanisms. The NLA reiterated its commitment to fostering a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and results-oriented management across its operations.
