Kenya’s environmental movement has gained a bold new face in 22 – year old Truphena Muthoni, whose unconventional activism has captured national attention. Muthoni, known for her endurance-driven approach to climate advocacy, recently completed a remarkable 72-hour tree-hugging marathon, a feat now awaiting formal ratification as a Guinness World Record.
Her latest challenge, staged in Nyeri, pushed her mental and physical limits as she hugged a single tree continuously for three days. But beyond the spectacle, Muthoni’s mission was to raise awareness about deforestation, pollution, and the escalating impacts of climate change across Kenya.
Inspired by her resilience and the growing national conversation around her campaign, OdiBets has awarded Muthoni a KSh 1 million sponsorship to strengthen her environmental initiatives. The gesture marks one of the most significant corporate endorsements of grassroots climate activism in recent years.

Her unwavering commitment to environmental conservation is truly admirable, and we believe this support will help her scale her efforts and inspire more Kenyans to take action towards a greener future,” said Mungai.
