Celebrating 2024’s Top 50 Most Influential Women in Gaming, Africa: Taryn Kendall
Taryn Kendall was born and raised in Gauteng, South Africa, where she developed an early passion for excellence and organization. Taryn’s professional journey began in 2007 as a Financial Admin and Online Sales professional at Projectorpoint.co.uk, a leading online supplier of AV equipment in the UK.
Upon her return to South Africa, she transitioned into the gaming industry, where she embarked on a remarkable career trajectory. In 2013, she joined Digital Outsource Services (Pty) Ltd as a Betway Trainer, specializing in sports betting and online casino gambling.
Taryn’s journey continued as she spent six years at Osiris Trading, taking on various roles including VIP Host and Casino Product Specialist. During her tenure at Osiris, she excelled in managing VIP client relationships and played a pivotal role in overseeing the successful delivery of casino games.
In February 2024, Taryn took a significant step in her career by accepting the role of Country Manager at ARRISE powering Pragmatic Play, which powers Pragmatic Play. In this capacity, she leads efforts to expand the company’s reach in the dynamic gaming landscape, leveraging her extensive experience to drive success and innovation in the market.
Beyond her work at ARRISE powering Pragmatic Play, Taryn is also a Regional Ambassador for Women in Gaming, The African Chapter. She is passionate about advocating for the empowerment and connection of women within the gaming industry, providing a platform that facilitates networking, mentorship, and collaboration opportunities. This initiative aims to celebrate the achievements of women in gaming while shaping the future of the industry across the African continent.

After completing her high school education at Westville Girls High School and achieving her Matric Certificate with exemption, Taryn pursued higher education at Varsity College, focusing on marketing. Later, she expanded her academic qualifications with a diploma in Fashion Drawing and a certificate in Fashion Merchandising from Intec, alongside a specialized course in Social Media from the University of Cape Town.
Known for her exceptional people skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to thrive under pressure, Taryn continuously seeks challenges that foster both personal growth and team achievement. Her commitment to excellence and her community involvement, including contributions to various charitable initiatives and serving on the Social Committee of Osiris, reflect her dedication to creating a positive impact both within and outside her professional spheres. Outside of her professional commitments, Taryn enjoys exploring diverse cultures and engaging with varying communities, embodying a zest for life that resonates through her endeavors.
